Biodynamic Massage

Biodynamic Massage is a gentle, therapeutic form of massage developed in the 1960s by Gerda Boyesen, a Norwegian psychotherapist and physiotherapist. It works with the natural processes of the body to ease tension, support emotional well-being, and promote a greater sense of balance and connection.

This approach recognises that stress, emotions, and past experiences are often held in the body, sometimes as tightness, restlessness, or a sense of heaviness. Through a range of gentle touch techniques, the therapist helps the body restore its natural capacity for relaxation and self-regulation.

A session is always tailored to the client’s needs. It may involve light touch or specific massage techniques that encourage a settling of the nervous system and a deeper awareness of how the body feels.

Biodynamic Massage can be offered as a stand-alone therapy for those seeking a gentle way to release tension and reconnect with themselves, or as part of a wider Body Psychotherapy process, where it supports emotional exploration through the body.
